Finished with a Bow

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. Hard to believe we are nearly into a new year. Quickest year ever. I recently had the opportunity to wear  a dress that has been sitting in the back of my wardrobe. You may remember it from this post. It's very dressy, a little too dressy for an average weekend so when I was invited to a winter wedding I thought it was the ideal opportunity. I think my favourite feature is the giant bow at the back. It just makes it extra girly and gives it that finishing touch. Unfortunately, disaster struck for me that day. After carefully styling my hair, I had the short journey of walking to and from my car in the stormiest of weather which left my hair looking neither straight or with wavey curls but what could only be described as utterly wind swept. Upon reaching the venue   and booking into our room, I had a whole 5 minutes to fix my hair. The man friends hair remained the same as before he left home. I guess that's all part of the joys of being a girl. Also, I went a little darker with my hair recently. At first, it was a bit of a shock as I'm not particularly adventurous with my hair but I've gotten used to it. It's probably the closest I could get to my natural colour.

Brown Thomas Christmas Windows 2013: The Red Carpet

Almost forgot to show you the Brown Thomas festive window displays this year. I really wish I could get in behind the glass to take the picture but from outside had to do. The detail that go into these is impressive and if I'm honest, the photos don't do it justice. You can see some of their previous festive displays here and here. If you are ever in Dublin in Ireland around Christmas time, I suggest a walk by the windows of Brown Thomas on Grafton Street. Enjoy!

Also, I didn't have access to the internet yesterday but wanted to wish you a very...

Festive Flapper Fun

Walking down Grafton Street the other day admiring all the christmas lights when these glitzy window displays in Brown Thomas brought me to a halt. I absolutely love their window displays all year round but especially at christmas time. Each year, they never fail to impress me. You can see how much hard work, imagination and detail goes into them. The flapper theme works fantastically and really builds on the anticipation for the upcoming movie release of The Great Gatsby. I really am dying to see the costumes in that film. Here's some quick shots I captured of the windows. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

You can check out Brown Thomas' christmas window displays from last year on my Festive Fairytale Feeling post. If you've seen any great christmas displays, please drop me the link as I'd love to check them out.
I hope you're getting in the festive spirit. How can you not with displays like these right? x

Simple Tradition

Every year come christmas time, there's one thing I always do and that is treat myself to a new pair of pyjamas. So simple but I love doing it. Having mentioned this to a few people, it seems that a lot of girls out there do the same thing. Anyways, I never thought I'd be posting about pyjamas but I thought I'd share my little christmas tradition with you. Some years I go festive in colour or pattern but this time round I went for a very colourful pair that just shout 'Spring' to me. Maybe its from looking at all the spring/summer collections but I just couldn't resist the pretty, bright colours. Have you any simple traditions at christmas?

(Set is from Dunnes Stores)

The christmas spirit has definitely spread into our office this week.
Third day running and there's cakes for the taking. I'm not usually a cake person but I couldn't resist these treats - they had holly on them after all.

Not to mention all the christmas music on in the office. Big thanks to my friend's in Warner Music who sent over some surprise musical treats to listen to. The jingle bells (literally) went down a treat.

Christmas Wish List

With christmas around the corner, I thought it would be fun to do a little wish list of some things I had my eye on so here they are.

Bertie Sierra B shoes, River Island black colour block oversized padlock bag, Oasis Sequin Pointelle 2 in 1 dress (reminds me of the Christopher Kane dress Alexa Chung wore to the British Fashion Awards recently), Accessorize Daisy Frilly swimsuit (for indoors this time of year I assure you), Marks & Spencers Autograph Pure Wool Lightweight Feather Trilby hat (rustic burgundy colour), Crystalandco A Sweet Dream Drop earrings, Miss Selfridge Faux Fur grey coat, Accessorize Queen Natasha Luxe necklace, Inglot 27TG make-up brush, Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb perfume, Newlook Peter Pan black shorts, adjustable tripod for my camera.

For anyone who isn't feeling the christmas spirit just yet, I advise a walk down Dublin's Grafton Street and have a look at the fabulous window displays by Brown Thomas. Their window displays never disappoint and their current displays will no doubt get you in that festive feeling!
